Browser APIs: the unknown Super Heroes
Still think browsers are only capable of parsing HTML, CSS and JavaScript? Think again! Browsers have become much more powerful and contain numerous APIs that can enrich the user experience or are just plain fun.
This talk will introduce you to some of them (like battery, speech, audio, location, …) and show you how easy it is to unleash their power with JavaScript.

Nice showcase of the apis, the demo's were well done showing how really simple code can do quite a lot. The superhero angle was maybe a bit much, but the presenting style was very good, well paced. Ian Smith
Clear presentation, simple live demos, great little examples with the Robot and speech synthesis. Pim Elshoff
I am not a front-end developer and I still felt inspired to start using these techniques :-| Clean and engaging presentation and speaker, good vibe and good connection with the audience. Calm and composed, good content, what more can the audience ask for. Dion Snoeijen
This was quite an interesting overview of the built-in browser api's. Onno Lissenberg
Very useful and inspiring. Steve Winter
Well structured session, with great demos of the chosen APIs. The whole 'superhero' context was a bit overdone (you may want to consider copyright too). ;-) Jeffrey
I didn't like the heros part on every slide, it felt of the presentation could be done in the half of the time. I was 'borred' after 5 times with the information that browser support is very bad. But Rowdy got me back in the end of his presentation with his interactive Bluetooth robot. So keep this interaction/moment with your audience! Thomas Berends
I really loved this talk. It was a great mix of a bit of fun with the superheroes, explaination of a certain API, and then a demo. And that very quickly with a lot of API's. I noticed that the sliders aren't linked on joind.in, if somebody wants them, they are here: https://browserapis.nl/ (which is also fun if you haven't seen the talk yet). Stephan Hochdörfer
Solid presentation, nicely designed slides. The demo with the robot was cool, maybe figure out ways to turn all parts into demos. Dennis D
Very good talk about the browser API's. Loved the super hero theme during the entire presentation. In my opinion sometimes a bit too much, but I like Rowdy's passion and the way he combines it with his other passion, speaking. ;-) Cool, clear examples. Loved to be in control of the robot via Twitter at the end. Really nice to see you involve the public with your talk. Dragan Dinic
It was good and informative talk about browser API's and got me some inspiring ideas. Superhero slides was imho well chosen, and the best part was interaction with the robot and actions with tweets.
