Automating Accessibility Testing with Playwright
Accessibility is often treated as a manual checklist or a one‑off audit — which means issues are found late, or not at all. In this talk, we’ll show how accessibility can become a natural part of your automated testing pipeline.
Based on real‑world experience building and maintaining large‑scale web platforms, we’ll demonstrate how Playwright can be used to catch common accessibility issues early, alongside your functional tests. You’ll see practical examples that connect WCAG principles to real code, covering topics like semantics, keyboard navigation and usability.
The focus is on practical, developer‑friendly automation you can apply immediately — an approach we also use at Nationale‑Nederlanden to make accessibility a shared, continuous responsibility within engineering teams.
